2020, digital art
Knitwear designer Jeanette Sloan commissioned me to design the logo for BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of colour) in Fiber after seeing my digital illustration of my daughter’s French Bull Dog on Instagram.
She loved the fluidity of the lines and wanted a logo that had that energy. Also, she wanted a logo that could be associated with fibre. I combined the shape of a low case ‘b’ and ‘f’ to produce a threadlike logo.
“BIPOC in Fiber is a website and resource portal designed to amplify and celebrate the work of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour working in the fibre industry. BIPOC in Fiber is the idea of Britain’s most prominent black knitwear designer, Jeanette Sloan.”
